Elise is an artist who lives at Queen Anne's Cove in Urbanna. Her cards and prints are available at Nimcock Gallery and Urbanna Harbour Gallery. Her original paintings have been juried in the Northern Virginia Art Center in Arlington. She is a member of the Potomac Valley Watercolorists and the Virginia Watercolor Society.

Parking and Directions

This is a Walking Pay-as-You-Go Festival. There are No Admission Fees.

Parking

Parking Fees: These parking fees offset Festival expenses and contribute to the programs of the Oyster Festival.

Oyster Festival Parking – Friday is $10.00 and Saturday is $20.00.

West Side of Town:
Oyster Festival Parking on the West Side Town – Route 602-Old Virginia Street: Friday parking is $10.00 and Saturday parking is $20.00.

Handicapped parking is available on the West side of Town – Corner of Red Hill Drive and Old Virginia Street.  All fees for handicapped parking benefit the Urbanna Rescue Squad (CMVRS).

East Side of Town: Rosegill – Route 227 will be available for parking. $10.00 on Friday and $20.00 on Saturday. There will be areas available for handicapped parking.

No Shuttles will be available.

Friday, the Town of Urbanna will be Closed to All Vehicle Traffic from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM for the Fireman's Parade. During this time, movement of traffic within the town will be limited. Saturday, the Town of Urbanna will be Closed to ALL Vehicle Traffic from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM for the safety of festival guests.

Friday, the Town of Urbanna will be Closed to All Vehicle Traffic from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on the West side of Town Route 602; and from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on the East side of town Route 227/Rosegill for the Fireman's Parade.  During this time, movement of traffic within the town will be limited.

Saturday, the Town of Urbanna will be Closed to ALL Vehicle Traffic from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM for the safety of festival guests.

Directions:

From Northern Virginia/Washington DC:   follow I-95 South to Fredericksburg and take Hwy 17 South (through Port Royal and Tappahannock) towards Saluda.  Follow event parking signs to "Official" Festival Parking on Route 602 West of Urbanna.   Or follow to Route 227 East of Urbanna at Rosegill.  Urbanna is about 3 hours depending on traffic.

From Richmond: follow I-64 East to Exit 220 (West Point) and continue until you come to a stoplight at Glenns, VA.and Hwy 17.   Then turn left for 4 miles and follow event parking signs to "Official" Festival Parking on Route 602 West of Urbanna.   Or follow to Route 227 East of Urbanna at Rosegill.  Urbanna is approximately 60 miles southeast of Richmond.

From Hampton Roads: follow Hwy 17 North (across the Coleman Bridge at Yorktown – you'll need two dollars to cross the bridge) Continue North through Gloucester towards Saluda and follow event parking signs to "Official" Festival Parking on Route 602 West of Urbanna.  Or follow to Route 227 East of Urbanna at Rosegill.  Urbanna is about 75 miles north.

Arrival by Boat: follow the Rappahannock River to the Port of Urbanna.  (Latitude: N37° 38' 17.3"  -  Longitude: W076° 34' 13.2").  Dock or anchor your boat in our beautiful harbor.  The town dinghy dock is available for your use.

If arriving by private aircraft:  fly into the Middlesex County Airport at Hummel Field.

Your safety at the Oyster Festival is important to all of us here in Urbanna. Please comply with the following festival safety rules:

  • No Pets. No Private golf carts and/or ATV type vehicles within the town festival limits.
  • No Alcoholic Beverages.
  • No water taxis will be operating. The use of the Upton's Point Marina dinghy dock is available.
