FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The 66th Annual Urbanna Oyster Festival will be held November 3-4, 2023.

Festivities begin at 10am on Friday and run through midnight with the Fireman’s Dance. Most vendors close up about 8pm. Saturday begins at 9am and runs till about 5pm. Reminder, if you park in town you will not be able to get out till after 8pm on Saturday.

No! We are a pay-as-you-go festival. However, there is a fee for parking of $20.00 on Friday & Saturday. Parking fees offset Festival expenses and contribute to the programs of the Urbanna Oyster Festival Foundation.

Parking can be found on the East and West sides of town is official festival parking. There is a $20 parking fee, and this fee helps the festival to offset expenses and contribute to the programs of the Urbanna Oyster Festival Foundation.

Handicap parking is available on the West side of town on the corner of Red Hill Drive and Virginia Street.

On the East side of town, the Urbanna Fire Department runs a shuttle from the field parking to the local gas station. There is a suggested donation of $2.00 per ride which benefits the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Dept.

On Friday, main roads through town will close depending on crowd size. Traffic will be diverted to side streets until 6:30 pm when all traffic into and out of town will be stopped in preparation for the Fireman’s Parade. On Saturday traffic will be stopped from entering and exiting town between 8am and 8pm.

Porta-potties are located throughout town for public use.

We politely ask that you leave your furry friends at home. With large crowd sizes expected, we find it’s best to keep foot traffic to humans. The Urbanna Oyster Festival holds no liability for any incidents involving pets.

No, if you are in need of either of these please bring your own.

Golf cart use is reserved for Festival volunteers and first responders only.

No, we feel it’s best to leave these at home.

No alcoholic beverages or coolers are permitted.

If something is misplaced during the Festival please check with the Information Trailer located at the corner of Virginia St. and Rappahannock Ave. Anything left in the trailer after the festival can be picked up after contacting the Festival office at E-mail: oysterfestival@va.metrocast.net or Phone: 804-758-2122.

Friday, the Town of Urbanna will be Closed to All Vehicle Traffic from5:00 PM until 9:00 PM for the Fireman’s Parade. During this time, movement of traffic within the town will be limited.

Saturday, the Town of Urbanna will be Closed to All Vehicle traffic from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. by direction of the Virginia State Police and Middlesex County Sheriff.
